Trump says he has “sort of made up” his mind on Venezuela

00:35

U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Friday that a decision could come soon regarding possible action on Venezuela, though he did not specify whether he would order military strikes.

“I can’t tell you what it would be but I sort of made up my mind,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.

According to U.S. officials, senior administration figures held three meetings at the White House this week to discuss options for potential military operations amid an expanded U.S. military presence in the Caribbean.

In recent weeks, Trump has repeatedly threatened ground operations in Venezuela and authorized covert activities by the CIA, with U.S. deployments in the Caribbean reportedly reaching their largest scale in over three decades.
