Live: Explore 'Bird Paradise' in Guangdong Province, S China – Ep. 2

"Xiaoniao Tiantang" or "Bird Paradise," a natural bird sanctuary in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, is a popular spot for bird watching. More than 380 years ago, the site was just a mud mound in the river with a single banyan tree. Over time, the area flourished, becoming a natural wonder where the banyan's branches and leaves now cover more than 10,000 square meters, and tens of thousands of birds perch on it – inspiring the local saying "one tree, one paradise."
In 1933, renowned Chinese writer Ba Jin was amazed by what he saw during a boat tour in the area and wrote the prose "Bird Paradise," making the scenic spot famous. Today, as one of the host cities for the 15th National Games, Jiangmen has attracted many tourists to this remarkable site.
