International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry described her meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping as "incredible," praising China's strong commitment to sports development. Coventry, together with IOC Honorary President for Life Thomas Bach, met President Xi on November 9 in Guangzhou, in south China's Guangdong Province, while attending the opening ceremony of China's 15th National Games.
In an interview with China Media Group, Coventry said she felt honored to speak with President Xi and emphasized how deeply he values sport. She also commended China's innovative sports infrastructure and technological advancements, calling the country's experience an important reference for the global sports community.
