One person was killed and two dozen were injured in violent weather in southern Portugal on Saturday, raising the death toll from Storm Claudia to three, authorities said. Portugal and parts of neighbouring Spain have faced days of extreme conditions brought on by the storm, which had reached parts of Britain and Ireland by Saturday. Two dozen people were injured, most of them lightly, at a nearby hotel, authorities said.
