At least 120 people — including 100 police officers — were injured during clashes in anti-government protests in Mexico City on Saturday, according to police.
Thousands of demonstrators marched in the capital to denounce violent crime and the administration of President Claudia Sheinbaum. Sheinbaum said the protests, which also occurred in other cities, were financed by right-wing politicians opposed to her government.
The rally, organized by Gen Z youth groups, drew wide public support from citizens angered by recent high-profile killings, including the assassination of Uruapan Mayor Carlos Manzo, who had advocated for stronger action against criminal cartels.
