China's first Type 076 amphibious assault ship, the Sichuan, returned to a shipyard in Shanghai at around 5 p.m. on Sunday after successfully completing its maiden sea trial.

The three-day mission tested the indigenously developed vessel's propulsion, electrical systems, and other key equipment, all of which met expected standards.

The ship will now undergo follow-up tests in accordance with established plans.
