A former Japanese Foreign Ministry official, Ukeru Magosaki, recently said that Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's stance on the Taiwan question is driven by U.S. strategic interests. He also emphasized that the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair and Japan must honor its political commitments regarding Taiwan region.
