Popular Aoyu fish lantern returns in Guangzhou
The gigantic floating Aoyu fish lantern that caught viewers' eyes at the 15th National Games made a popular comeback in Guangzhou on Sunday. Its reappearance was also greeted by cheers from the audience during the ongoing 2025 Guangzhou International Light Festival. It took the design team 8 months to complete this luminous and inflatable artwork that has the head of a dragon and the body of a fish. A symbol of Lingnan folk culture, the Aoyu fish is a legendary and auspicious beast that is worshiped as a guardian by local people in Guangdong.
