The so-called "China Red" 4K/8K ultra-high-definition broadcast vehicle fleet from China Media Group (CMG) departed from Beijing on Monday and was expected to arrive at the San Siro Stadium in Milan on January 13 for the Winter Olympics.

The vehicles had been independently designed and integrated by CMG. They measured 17 meters in length and expanded to 5.8 meters in width during operation. They could accommodate 34 workstations and five functional zones simultaneously, with switching consoles capable of handling 80 channels of 4K signal sources.

As the official rights-holding broadcaster for the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and the only media organization involved in producing the 8K international public broadcast signal, CMG aimed to integrate cutting-edge technologies into event broadcasting and signal production. For the first time at a Winter Olympics, CMG produced the international public broadcast signal for short track speed skating and figure skating events.

CMG had reserved a 1,700-square-meter working area at the Milan International Broadcasting Center, along with a 223-square-meter Central Technical Area equipment room. Three studio systems were established, fully covering core functions.
