Nan'ao Bridge is located in Shantou City, southern China's Guangdong Province, serving as a vital link to Nan'ao County, the only island county in Guangdong Province. Stretching 11.08 kilometers in total, it lies across Houjiang Bay with an elegant S-shaped curve and was opened to trial operation on January 1, 2015. The bridge ended the long history of Nan'ao residents relying on ferries to cross the sea, slashing travel time between the urban area and the island from 40 minutes by boat to 15 minutes by car. It broke the transportation bottleneck for the island's tourism and economy, fueling local development.
