The UN Security Council on November 17 adopted a U.S.-drafted resolution backing President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan and authorizing an international stabilization force. 

The resolution also encourages member states to join a Trump-led Peace Board for Gaza's reconstruction and grants the force the authority to demilitarize the enclave. Hamas, in a statement, reiterated that it will not disarm and argued that its fight against Israel is legitimate resistance.
