CGTN's 'Learn Chinese with Ease' debuts at 2025 World Chinese Language Conference

CGTN launched the "Learn Chinese with Ease" ecosystem at the 2025 World Chinese Language Conference in Beijing on Saturday.

The initiative, developed in partnership with Beijing Language and Culture University Press, features a modular curriculum based on HSK standards and is supported by multimedia resources – including scenario-based videos, grammar micro-lectures and interactive app demos – all tailored for immersive, digital-first learning.

The launch comes as Chinese language education continues expanding worldwide. Chinese has been incorporated into national education systems in 86 countries, with over 200 million learners globally.

The "Chinese Bridge" competitions have attracted 1.8 million participants from over 160 countries, while the HSK – China's official proficiency test – now has 1,477 test centers in 168 countries and has been taken by over 8.5 million examinees, with nearly 60 percent of new test takers aged between 19 and 45.

To enhance the user experience, CGTN launched several digital engagement platforms: an interactive hub featuring scene-based videos with vocabulary and grammar content, an online community for collaborative study and themed activities, and "Speak to Feast," a TikTok augmented reality game where speaking Chinese dish's names activates playful effects – making language practice fun and accessible for all ages.

The 2025 World Chinese Language Conference was held in Beijing from November 14 to 16 under the theme "Innovation Leads, AI Empowers: Learning Chinese without Borders."

Hosted by China's Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Center for Language Education and Cooperation, the event brought together global experts to explore future directions for Chinese language education in a rapidly digitizing world.
