Last month, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China concluded with the adoption of the Recommendations of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development, which sets China's strategic course for 2026 to 2030, a vital period linking past achievements with future modernization goals.
Silvia Menegazzi, a professor of Chinese studies from Luiss University in Rome, says there are three main drivers for growth at the core of the upcoming 15th Five-Year Plan: advanced manufacturing and technology, domestic consumption, and green transition.
She stated, "China has promoted in the last 10 to 20 years an alternative model of development, which has already impacted how we think about sustainable development. "
