The CGTN documentary "Hotline Beijing" recently made waves in Auckland, New Zealand, offering a unique glimpse into the Chinese capital's approach to urban management and community problem-solving.
The screening, which took place on Tuesday, attracted a diverse audience, including Auckland Mayor Wayne Brown, along with representatives from the Auckland business community, film industry, and the New Zealand-China Friendship Society.

Centered on the Beijing 12345 hotline, "Hotline Beijing" is a compelling documentary that showcases how people in Beijing are actively seeking solutions to the everyday issues that affect their lives, ultimately making the city a better place for everyone. Wayne Brown expressed his enthusiasm for learning from China's experience in managing a large metropolis. He stated that he intends to draw inspiration from the documentary and apply similar strategies to enhance the management and development of Auckland.
In addition to the mayor's presence, the screening was also marked by a parallel forum where representatives from various sectors shared their perspectives.
"Hotline Beijing" also recently won the Best Documentary/Science and Education Film Award at the 38th China Film Golden Rooster Awards. The winners were announced in Xiamen, Fujian on November 15.
