NASA has confirmed that the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS is a comet, ending speculation that it might be an alien spaceship. The space agency used its Hubble and James Webb telescopes, along with the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, to study the object, which behaves like a typical comet despite coming from another star. Scientists believe this visitor from a different star system could offer a glimpse into the distant past, possibly before our own solar system formed. The comet poses no threat to Earth and will make its closest approach on December 19, 2025.
