Peter Kuznick, professor of history and director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University, has sharply criticized recent remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi on the Taiwan question, calling them ignorant and provocative. He argued that her remarks ignore historical facts, run counter to the postwar international order and seriously undermine regional stability.
