Minning Town, in northwest China's Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is linked with the eastern Fujian Province via targeted poverty alleviation initiatives. Support from Fujian has turned Minning's villages into thriving communities, with per capita annual incomes rising from 500 yuan ($70) to 19,000 yuan.

This partnership – part of China's east-west pairing cooperation and involving eight eastern and 10 western provinces – continues to drive shared development across the country.

CGTN's series Path to Prosperity takes you there.
