Former U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan recently commented on the 2022 visit to China's Taiwan region by then-U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. During a podcast, he stated that the cost of the visit to Taiwan far exceeded the so-called benefits it brought to the region. Sullivan noted that this move not only triggered an immediate countermeasure from China and exerted enormous pressure on the Taiwan region but also led to "substantive changes" to the surrounding operational environment with lasting effects.
