Drilling wood for fire, chopping logs, digging for wild vegetables – wilderness survival tests not only the body, but also patience and belief. Zhang Bolin, known online as "Lin Bei," is a Gen-Z graduate in pharmaceutics from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the youngest contestant in Season two of the Qixingshan Wilderness Survival Challenge in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province.
Throughout the competition, participants must rely on only a few basic tools and zero outside supplies to complete high-intensity survival tasks: building shelters, purifying water, and searching for food in the wild. Using the event as a springboard, the scenic area is enriching its outdoor tourism offerings, tapping deeper into Zhangjiajie's natural resources, and exploring new ways to blend culture, sports and tourism in the great outdoors.
