This year, South Africa hosted the G20 Johannesburg Summit on November 22 and 23. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, China is South Africa's largest trading partner, and South Africa is China's largest trading partner in Africa, underscoring the depth of their economic ties.

South Africa is unique in that it has three capitals: Pretoria as the administrative capital, Cape Town as the legislative capital, and Bloemfontein as the judicial capital. It also has eleven official languages. English and Afrikaans are widely used, while Zulu and Xhosa are the most commonly spoken among the nine indigenous languages.
