The first International Conference on AI Scientists is underway in Beijing, bringing together leading experts to explore the frontiers of artificial intelligence. In an interview with CGTN host Tian Wei, Serge Haroche, the 2012 Nobel Prize laureate in Physics, underscored the global need for ethical AI grounded in shared moral values. Haroche said the foundation for responsible AI must begin with a transformation in education. He emphasized that education should cultivate flexible, adaptable minds – young people capable of critical thinking and able to navigate an era overwhelmed with information. In a rapidly changing world, he stressed, critical thinking remains humanity's most important safeguard.
