Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's erroneous remarks concerning China's Taiwan region have undermined the atmosphere for exchanges between China and Japan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday.

She made the statement at a press conference in Beijing in response to a media query regarding the impact of Takaichi's erroneous statements on bilateral exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.
