Chinese President Xi Jinping met with visiting King Tupou VI of the Kingdom of Tonga in Beijing on Tuesday. Xi said China and Tonga have enjoyed long-standing friendship, marked by mutual respect, equality and firm support for each other's core interests. He called for carrying forward this traditional friendship and further strengthening solidarity and cooperation.
