IOC Lifetime Achievement Award for Chinese volleyball legend

01:12

Chinese volleyball coach Lang Ping has received the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Coaches Lifetime Achievement Award. Nicknamed "Iron Hammer" as a player, Lang won gold at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.

She then coached China to an Olympic silver medal at Atlanta 1996, the US to silver at Beijing 2008, and China to gold at Rio 2016.

Lang's accomplishments and recognition serve as an inspiration for female coaches, who remain significantly underrepresented among elite-level coaches. Cuban wrestling coach Raúl de Jesús Trujillo Díaz was honored at the same ceremony.
