The epic drama "Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale" – regarded as one of Taiwan's most recognized films about its resistance against Japanese aggression – is slated to return to Chinese mainland theaters on December 12.

Having made its debut in Chinese mainland cinemas in 2012, the film will be screened in its complete two-part version.

Centered around the Wushe Incident in central Taiwan in the 1930s, it portrays indigenous Seediq leader Mona Rudao, who rose up against Japanese colonial rule of China's island province. It exposes injustices like the plundering of natural resources, forced labor, and the violent suppression of local communities.

The film garnered international acclaim, including a nomination at the Venice International Film Festival.
