Southern Thailand is reeling from catastrophic floods affecting over 2.7 million people and leaving 33 dead. The Thai government declared a state of emergency in Songkhla Province on November 25, as a week of torrential rains has left the tourist hub of Hat Yai and surrounding areas inundated. Rescue teams have been scrambled to reach families still trapped by fast-moving waters.
