On November 28, the Fire Services Department (FSD) in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) announced in the early hours that firefighting operations had been completed at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex. The death toll in a major fire that broke out at a residential complex in Hong Kong had jumped to 128 and may rise further, according to the HKSAR government.

CGTN Stringer witnessed that aid began flowing to the survivors of the deadly blaze at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex on November 28. Several social welfare organizations were on the ground at temporary shelters, distributing relief funds of 1,000 Hong Kong dollars (around $128) per household.
