On November 28, the Fire Services Department (FSD) in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) announced in the early hours that firefighting operations had been completed at the Wang Fuk Court residential complex.

The death toll in a major fire that broke out at the residential complex had jumped to 128 and may rise further, according to the HKSAR government. Full rescue efforts will continue, and all residential units will be searched to ensure no individuals remain trapped, it added.

CGTN interviewed two social workers who have rushed in to help with relief efforts for fire survivors. They explained how their charity organization mobilized to open temporary shelters for affected residents and set up street booths in Tai Po District where Hong Kong residents can donate supplies and find out how they can help further.
