Hainan Province has completed its first "4-to-8 lane" upgraded interchange on the eastern section of its G98 Hainan Island Ring Expressway, marking the opening of a key project in Ding'an County. At the newly finished Xiangou Interchange, vehicles now travel smoothly through a full cloverleaf-shaped network.

Construction began in 2024, building an eight-lane dual-direction main line with a speed limit of 120 km/h. The single-lane ramps, designed for speeds up to 40 km/h, are expected to ease travel pressure between Xiangou Town and Hainan's main urban areas, improving traffic flow across the region.
