A Chinese national was injured by a landmine explosion at the Thailand-Cambodia border on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Chinese embassy in Thailand.
The Chinese Embassy in Thailand immediately contacted the relevant Thai authorities and coordinated with them to provide full support for the treatment of the Chinese national, whose condition is described as stable, according to the statement.
The embassy will continue to maintain close communication with the hospital where the Chinese national is being treated for injuries as well as with the relevant Thai authorities. The statement also said the embassy will provide the necessary assistance to the Chinese national.
The Chinese embassy in Thailand reminds Chinese citizens currently in Thailand or planning to visit the country to abide by local immigration laws and regulations, and to be aware of any issues that might affect their safety. In case of emergency, Chinese nationals are advised to contact the Chinese embassy or consulate in Thailand for assistance.
