Dr Daniel Brown, director of the Critical Care Independent Multidisciplinary Program at Mayo Clinic in the United States, said that China's rapid progress in critical care medicine has made a strong impression on the international medical community.

He noted that although the healthcare systems in China and the United States differ in many ways, clinicians in both countries share the same mission of saving lives. 

In recent years, West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Mayo Clinic have strengthened their collaboration in critical care medicine through clinician exchanges, specialist training and joint research. Their partnership reflects an innovative, borderless model of medical cooperation and reinforces the vision of a global community of health.
