China's Ministry of Ecology and Environment has released new underwater footage of China's Huangyan Dao area in the South China Sea, showcasing its vibrant coral reefs and diverse marine life. The release coincides with the ministry's 2025 ecological assessment report, which confirms the area maintains excellent marine environment quality. The report, compiled by eight research institutions using data from 2024-2025 field surveys, highlights a healthy coral reef ecosystem with 134 species of reef-building corals and 145 species of reef fish.
