Nestled in the tropical highlands of Hainan, the Baisha Li Autonomous County welcomes the harvest season with its annual La'aomen Festival – a vibrant tribute to the ethnic Li people's agricultural heritage and a reflection of the island's evolving identity as a global free trade port. The festival showcases ancient traditions like ceremonial prayers, mountain farming reenactments, and long-table feasts featuring fragrant shanlan rice.

This year's event is held across two venues, with one site preserving the authenticity of Li farming customs, and the other incorporating immersive technology and creative exhibitions – bridging centuries-old culture with modern storytelling. From hands-on farming experiences to cultural performances and digital interactions, the festival offers more than just a glimpse into Li traditions – it invites the world to witness how Hainan honors its roots while stepping confidently onto the global stage.
