Just three days after eking out an 80-76 win over China in Beijing, the Republic of Korea followed up with a more emphatic 90-76 victory at home in Wonju on Monday, in the second Group B game for both teams in Asian Qualifying for the 2027 FIBA World Cup.

While the first contest hinged on a blistering 45.2 shooting percentage from three-point range, the rematch was all-but-decided in a one‑sided opening quarter. The ROK started with a 28-13 burst, before stretching the difference to 52-29 at halftime.

China rallied after the break as Cheng Shuaipeng injected life into the visiting side's offense, en route to finishing with a team‑high 19 points, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Cheng's afternoon was cut short by an injury in the fourth quarter, and while Zhou Qi offered a steady presence with 17 points and 15 rebounds, his contributions weren't enough to blunt the home squad's momentum.

Lee Jung‑hyun led the charge for the hosts with 24 points, while Lee Hyun‑jung added 20 (on the heels of Friday's 33‑point outburst in Beijing). The back‑to‑back wins leave the ROK with a psychological edge and China with two painful lessons learned in quick succession.
