The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on Tuesday concerning the "Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine." The draft resolution passed with 151 votes in favor, 11 against and 11 abstentions. China voted in favor of the draft resolution, while the United States and Israel opposed it.

In remarks following the vote, Sun Lei, China's deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, urged an immediate, comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, and reaffirmed China's support for the just cause of the Palestinian people.
