China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday that the one-China principle is the political foundation and fundamental prerequisite of China-Honduras relations, the growth of the bilateral ties is in the fundamental and long-term interests of both countries and peoples, and that "Taiwan independence" separatist moves are doomed to fail.
Lin's remarks at a regular press briefing came after a reporter asked about remarks by an official from the Taiwan region who attempted to make contact with two presidential candidates in Honduras.
