The construction on top of Xiamen-Kinmen Bridge's main tower in the Xiamen section was completed on Monday.
With the tower construction finished, work has now entered the critical phase of installing suspension cables, laying the groundwork for main cable installation and steel box girder hoisting.
The navigation bridge measures a total of 1,948 meters in length, with a span of 928 meters and a height of 178.1 meters. Each main tower, from bottom to top, consists of 60 steel shell segments and two steel crossbeams.
The main offshore line of the Xiamen section is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2026.
