Tournament host China made short work of the Republic of Korea, sweeping to an 8-0 victory for a fifth consecutive win at the ITTF Mixed Team World Cup in Chengdu on Wednesday.
Lin Shidong and Kuai Man set the tone in the opening mixed doubles match, dispatching Park Gang‑hyeon and Kim Na‑yeong 11-5, 14-12, 11-8 to put China ahead 3-0.
Wang Manyu followed with a composed 11-7, 11-7, 11-8 women's singles victory, before World No. 1 Wang Chuqin wrapped up the one‑sided clobbering by beating An Jae‑hyun 11-9, 11-4 in the men's singles contest.
China's first five outings have been conspicuously smooth. Aside from dropping a single match point in the tournament opener against the Hong Kong SAR, the host team has posted four straight 8-0 shutouts over Egypt, Chile, Croatia and now the ROK.
Both of the home side's mixed doubles pairings have looked sharp, and the three men's and three women's singles players have each used the contests as effective warm‑ups, with the squad looking well‑prepared for sterner tests ahead.
China will meet France in the afternoon session late on Thursday.
