The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said on Thursday that the Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court has received donations of HK$2.8 billion (about $36 million).
The fund, established by the HKSAR government following a devastating fire that tore through a housing complex in Tai Po on November 26, will be used to help affected residents rebuild their homes.
The HKSAR government also announced that the living subsidy for the victims will be increased to HK$100,000 per household.
