The FBI arrested a man in Virginia suspected of planting pipe bombs in Washington, D.C. the night before the January 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol by supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump, Attorney General Pam Bondi confirmed on Thursday.
Surveillance footage from 2021 shows the suspect placing pipe bombs outside both the Democratic National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters, locations near the U.S. Capitol. The investigation into this case has been ongoing for several years.
