China's year-end box office has surpassed 2.5 billion yuan ($350 million) as of Saturday morning, according to online data covering the November 28–December 31 release window.
Disney's Zootopia 2 leads the season's rankings, with its cumulative China box office alone exceeding 2.5 billion yuan — far above its predecessor's 1.538 billion-yuan total and setting multiple new records for imported animated features in China.
Since being released simultaneously with North America on November 26, the film's performance in the Chinese mainland has also outstripped its North American takings, making China the movie's largest market in the world.
The year-end slate officially launched on November 28, with more than 50 films scheduled for release.
