At the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Heerenveen, Netherlands, China's Ning Zhongyan claimed the bronze medal in the men's 1500m, while the United States' Jordan Stolz dominated the event and broke the track record.

Clad in a black racing suit, Ning competed in the final heat alongside Dutch star Kjeld Nuis. The 36-year-old veteran held not only the world record in the men's 1500m but also back-to-back Olympic gold medals from PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022. Nuis posted the fastest split times at both 300m and 400m.

After 700m, Ning maintained a steady rhythm and ranked second among all skaters, trailing only Nuis. However, American star Stolz outpaced them both, finishing with a time of 1:42.55, shaving 0.45 seconds off the five-year-old track record held by Nuis.

The 21-year-old Stolz won his third gold medal of the season in the distance. Nuis took silver, while Ning secured bronze with a time of 1:43.87.
