Floods have caused major devastation in different parts of Asia, with the confirmed death toll across Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Thailand now exceeding 1,600. Sri Lanka is mobilizing a large-scale response following severe flooding and landslides triggered by Cyclone Ditwah. The government has declared a state of emergency and deployed over 20,000 military personnel for search, rescue and relief operations. International assistance is flowing in, with the United Nations and its partners delivering emergency aid such as food and hygiene supplies. China has also provided emergency humanitarian assistance, including funds and relief materials, at the request of the Sri Lankan government.
