German filmmaker Julian Radlmaier, director of Phantoms of July, and its producer Kirill Krasovski shared their thoughts on bringing their Golden Coconut Awards-nominated feature to China during an interview with CGTN's Zhang Meng at the 7th Hainan Island International Film Festival (HIIFF).

During their first visit to China, both emphasized the universal nature of cinematic storytelling. They said HIIFF's diversity of creators - and the openness of Chinese audiences – makes it an exciting environment for future artistic collaboration, including potential cross-border co-productions.
