Who will pay for the domino effect of Takaichi's words?

Japan's PM Sanae Takaichi is sparking tension with her erroneous remarks on China's Taiwan region that undermine China-Japan relations. According to Hideo Kumano, chief economist at Japan's Dai-ichi Life Research Institute, if strained ties last more than a year, the number of Chinese tourists visiting the country could sharply decline. No Chinese visitors would mean a potential loss of over 2 trillion yuan ($12.9 billion), with local economies suffering the most.
