China successfully conducted the world's first operational test of a 35,000-tonne heavy-haul train group on Monday. Seven freight trains, each carrying 5,000 tonnes, operated in sync using instant wireless signals without any mechanical coupling. The test was carried out on the Baoshen Railway in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
