China has launched its first autonomous control system for gas-fired power generation at the Huaneng Shanghai Combined Cycle Power Plant. The system enables a gas turbine unit to run the entire process – from starting up to shutting down – without human intervention, marking a shift from manual monitoring to intelligent operation.
According to the plant, the trial unit met all key operating indicators, and the new technology is expected to support the digital and intelligent upgrade of China's conventional energy sector.
