The afternoon tea dessert set is being offered inside the No. 1 Department Store in Shanghai, where the TV show "Solo Comedy" is currently recording, abuzz with excitement.
The wonderful mix of comedy performances and afternoon tea – many tinged with soy sauce – has drawn a throng of internet celebrities and mall customers, all eager to experience it first-hand for themselves.
This innovative approach has created a closed loop, where audiences watch unaired shows while tasting new ranges of flavored products, transforming traditional cultural symbols from static displays into dynamic experiences.
In collaboration with a century-old intangible cultural heritage brand Xianshi Soy Sauce from Luzhou City in southwest China's Sichuan Province, this event represents a youthful dialogue between intangible cultural heritage and avant-garde comedy, in another exploration of combining culture, commerce, and tourism by a TV show.
The traditional soy sauce brewing craft of Xianshi town in Luzhou has a long history and was included in China's representative list of national intangible cultural heritage in 2014.
