Following the order to remove scaffold nets issued by the Buildings Department (BD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), as of December 9, all 230 private buildings have had their scaffold nets removed from the external walls, according to a press release by the HKSAR government.
The BD is striving to introduce a new set of arrangements within this week that will require scaffold nets used at construction sites to undergo on-site sampling and certification of compliance with relevant standards before installation, it added.
