Ice harvesting began on December 7 on the frozen Songhua River in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, for the upcoming 27th Harbin Ice-Snow World. Crews were seen cutting clear ice blocks, known as "tofu blocks," and transporting them to the park for sculpting. The operation is expected to run for more than a month, with nearly 1,000 workers on the river each day and a daily output reaching about 10,000 cubic meters.
